Explain The Task

The task was to be interviewed about one thing we loved growing up. We had to make up our own questions and put our own ideas into the short film.

Describe how you came up with your idea

I thought back to what I loved growing up and remembered early memories of listening to Eminem and remembered even at that young age noticing his rhyme structure and the use of delivery to add compliment to his side splitting humour.
So I decided to pick him as my interview subject.

Describe how you planned your project

I decided to go with one main thing I loved growing up and ran with that idea. I did a brain storm, jotted ideas and structured the movie planning shot angles questions and how to incorporate a little humour. I looked back on my memories of the subject matter and tried incorporating them into my ideas to get the desired effect of making the viewer feel as if they were there when I discovered him.

explained what you learnt about using cameras and tripods

Being fairly new to handling Cameras and tripods I learnt Camera Positioning is an art in itself that I previously over looked when watching television. I learnt zoom can make a shot look shoddy and un-professional
I learnt Framing sets a scene and many names of certain shot types. I also learnt how to use a Tripod after never using one in the past.

explain what you learnt about editing using final cut pro

Being completely new to the software I operated with scepticism but after a few sessions I gained basic understanding and I learnt the basics of uploading footage, cutting parts, Transitions, adding to a timeline Introducing sound and reducing sound and how to add text and make credits

explain about uploading your finished product to your blog and creating a dvd of it

I created a flash video version of my interview to make it a small sreaming file using a doby flash video encoder. I then burnt my movie onto dvd using Idvd software.

For my first Project in media I think it turned out an over all success I managed to incorporate my main ideas and add the little touch of humour I wanted. And Production ran smoothly. The one thing that could improve this video would be a few more questions I now understand along with putting all my ideas together I must also ensure I fit everything in to do what is needed to a high standard

sum up what the main experience has been for you

It’s been different. After only using cameras to record stupid and strange events that happen around me this really made a change. Overall the experience has been fun enjoyable and very funny at times. It’s made me want to film more and elevate my level of skill to show the unique ideas I have.
